SACRAMENTS

When two or three are gathered in my name I am present (Matthew 18:20).

The purpose of the sacraments are to sanctify us, to build up the body of Christ (the Church) and to give worship to God – Catechism of the Catholic Church no. 1123.

BAPTISM

Be baptised every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38).

Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to the life in the spirit and the door which gives access to the other sacraments – Catechism of the Catholic Church no. 1123.

At Resurrection Parish we generally baptism Children on the first Saturday of the month at 12 noon except in January.

CONFIRMATION

RECONCILLIATION

Be Reconciled to God (2 Cor 5:20).

your sins are forgiven (Mark 2:5).

The sacrament of Reconciliation brings about the restoration of the dignity and blessings of the life of the children of God –Catechism of the Catholic Church no. 1468.

First Rite Reconciliation is celebrated on the first Saturday of the month except in January. There is also a second Rite of reconciliation celebrated in the last week of lent.

The sacramental program of reconciliation for children in the non-Catholic system has finished in 2022. 

MARRIAGE

EUCHARIST

This is my body which is given for you (Luke 22:19).

The Eucharist is an action of thanksgiving to God – Catechism of the Catholic Church no. 1328.

The sacramental program of Eucharist for children in the non-Catholic system has finished in 2022. 

PRIESTHOOD

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts  2:4).

 

In confirmation, the baptise person is more closely bound to the church and enrich by the Holy Spirit – Catechism of the Catholic Church no. 1285.

Enrolment for the sacramental program for confirmation of children in the non-Catholic school system closes on the 5th of July 2022. Please contact the parish office.

They are no longer two but one flesh (Matthew 19:6).

 

Marriage is the intimate community of life and love… established by the Creator - Catechism of the Catholic Church no. 1603.

Couples planning to be married are requested to make an appointment with Fr Gerard.

Be the least and the servant of all (Mark 9:35).

 

Christ is a source of the priesthood…and the priest acts in the person of Christ -Catechism of the Catholic Church no. 1548.

ANOINTING OF THE SICK

If anyone is sick let them call for the priest of the Church (James 5:14).

 

The anointing of the sick commends all those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, that he may raise them up and save them -Catechism of the Catholic Church no. 1499.
