INFANTS AND CHILDREN
The Sacrament of Baptism is usually celebrated on the first Sunday of each month at
12.30pm. However parents may choose to have their child’s baptism at one of our Masses
that weekend (6pm Saturday, 9am & 10.30am Sunday).
Applications for Baptism may be obtained from the Parish Office during office hours or at the Welcome Desk before or after any of our weekend Masses.
Both Godparents must have completed their sixteenth year and are required to be Catholic themselves.
Prior to your child’s Baptism there is a meeting for parents on a Saturday morning at 10.30am and a welcome during our 10.30am Sunday Mass. When you lodge the application at the Parish Office you will be given the relevant dates.
Godparents are welcome but not required to attend the parent meeting or the Welcome Mass.
There is a process called Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), it is an exciting journey on the way towards Baptism or Formal Reception into the Catholic Church for those previously baptised in another religious denomination.
It is also for those who may have been baptised Catholic but for whatever reason have little understanding of the Catholic faith.
